We all at some point, while drifting across Youtube, stumble upon age restricted youtube videos that usually contains some content only for mature audiences. How do we get to know? We get the popular ‘Content Warning‘ from Youtube. This warning is sometimes irritating for people who are adult enough (or maybe not) to view the video but do not have a Youtube account or for people who simply refuse to sign in. Also, Youtube shows your watched videos in your account history. Hence, you do not want Youtube to show some videos in your account’s ‘watch history’. Well, we understand your feelings and frustrations. Here is how you can view age restricted youtube videos.
For any video that you come across as age restricted and requires signing in, you just need to simply replace the watch?v= with v/ .
For example, if the link of the video is:
youtube.com/watch?v=X_Ngqu78DrY
The new link would look something like this:
youtube.com/v/X_Ngqu78DrY
In this way, you will get to the Youtube player directly i.e. without opening the whole site.
NOTE: This trick doesn’t work if the video is restricted from playback on other sites.
To watch such videos, and as an alternative to the above trick, you can add nsfw before the youtube.com part and it will take you to another website where you can view the video without any sign-up or sign in. For example:
nsfwyoutube.com/watch?v=X_Ngqu78DrY
This link would open up a website with the video embedded. All you need to do is click on play and relax.
This trick is a bit faster to type but as a result, it will take you to an external website to view the video. But the call is yours. You can choose any of the tricks as per preference. Both tricks will solve the problem. Also, nsfwyoutube.com gives you one more option now. All you have to do is, open nsfwyoutube.com and drag the “Bypass YT login!” link (given at the top right corner) to your bookmark bar. If you cannot see your bookmark bar, press Ctrl+Shift+B (or ⌘+Shift+B in Mac). After this, all you have to do is open your video and whenever youtube demands Sign In, just click the Bypass YT login bookmark.
